Australian fintech start-up Chippit is caught in a copyright dispute with global payments giant PayPal over the naming of a new product feature, which the company planned to call “PayPool.”

Chippit, which was founded in November 2021 and has raised about $500,000 from start-up accelerator Antler and other angel investors, offers a digital wallet that allows a group of users to pool their savings and lend money to each other.
