Parental leave shaming prompts Macmahon baby steps

Praising a company for instituting a paid parental scheme policy feels like praising them for replacing a fax machine with email. Surely this should have happened in the 1990s?

Regardless, we were happy to recently hear ASX-listed mining services company Macmahon, led by chief executive Michael Finnegan, introduced a (fairly basic) parental leave scheme of 12 weeks for primary carers in mid-January.
