Newcrest forgets Sally-Anne Layman's Gascoyne calamity

Gold major Newcrest Mining announced a board rejig on Tuesday, adding resources specialist Sally-Anne Layman as a non-executive director in place of former Rio Tinto minerals boss Xiaoling Liu, who is retiring at Newcrest’s AGM in November.

Layman’s expansive biography provided by Newcrest included her four other current listed directorships – of Beach Energy, Pilbara Minerals, Imdex and Perseus Mining – and “prior to that”, her “various positions with resource companies including Mount Isa Mines, Great Central Mines and Normandy Yandal”.
