House prices under pressure as clearance rate dips to lowest this year

Weekly auction clearance rates fell to their lowest level this year, swinging bargaining power in favour of home buyers and raising the chances of a property price downturn in major markets such as Sydney and Melbourne.
Preliminary results show the national auction clearance rate fell to 63.4 per cent over the past week, down from last week’s 64.5 per cent, according to CoreLogic.
