A $10 million community centre in Western Australia's wheatbelt took out the state's top architecture award on Friday, beating projects with budgets 100 times larger.

Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre by iredale pedersen hook architects with Advanced Timber Concepts Studio won the state's top overall award for architecture, as well as the top award for sustainable architecture and an award for public architecture.
