Builder Wiley pushes back against ‘insane’ construction margins

Rob Barron is negotiating with a client to build an office tower that will cost $40 million to $50 million to build but has not reached an agreement.

Differences with the developer over how much margin he could charge stand in the way of signing a contract, says Barron, the chief executive of Brisbane-based Wiley, which sells design, construction management and building services.
