Matt Kean is a true believer on climate. As one colleague recalls, he was a “pain in the arse” about getting an electric vehicle added to the ministerial fleet for his use in early 2020 not long after he became NSW energy and environment minister.
Even more painful for Liberals was Kean’s decision in mid-2024 to take a job from Labor as the chair of the Climate Change Authority.
