Former police officer Brad Battin has been elected as Victorian Liberal leader in a significant win for the conservative arm of the party, but one that could harm its election prospects.
Mr Battin wrested the top role from embattled opposition leader John Pesutto on Friday, pledging to prioritise tax cuts, cost-of-living relief, a crime crackdown and road repairs in the 2026 state election.
