Unions have rebuffed and business has welcomed Andrew Leigh’s call for a light-touch approach to regulating artificial intelligence, with the former labelling it “presumptuous” to suggest AI will not destroy jobs.
Unions NSW secretary Mark Morey warned governments were still playing catch-up with regulation of the “social and cultural wrecking ball” of social media, let alone AI which was “potentially even more disruptive”.
