Tomahawk missiles plan for Collins-class submarines misfires

Australia’s ageing Collins-class submarines will not be fitted with potent long-range Tomahawk strike missiles, risking leaving the submarine fleet undergunned until the arrival of nuclear-powered submarines in the early 2030s.
The Albanese government will confirm on Wednesday that it will extend the lives of the Collins-class boats by another 10 years, known as the “life of type extension” or LOTE.
