Teacher accreditation standards ‘need teeth’: Scott
New national standards and accreditation rules will be developed by the end of this year, after a major report found universities are failing to equip teaching graduates with the requisite skills to manage challenging classrooms and give students the best start at life.
The expert review led by Sydney University vice chancellor Mark Scott found too many education students quit university courses before completion or leave the teaching profession too soon to flourish.
