Today’s The Australian Financial Review/Freshwater Strategy poll shows the Albanese government has even more ground to make up on the Coalition ahead of an imminent election that will be fought over issues related to the cost of living.
The poll shows Labor’s primary vote has fallen by 1 percentage point to 31 per cent. The Coalition has increased its two-party preferred 52 per cent to 48 per cent lead over Labor. The poll suggests Peter Dutton has a realistic chance – at worst – of being in a position to form a minority government.
