Financial stress exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic has left one in four Australians finding it difficult to get by on their current income, according to new analysis.

Australians in the lowest income bracket are feeling the pinch the hardest, researchers from Australian National University’s Centre for Social Research and Methods found, with more than half saying they are struggling to make ends meet.
