X wanted to avoid exploitation rules because it’s not Twitter any more
Elon Musk’s social media platform X will be required to tell the eSafety commissioner it is preventing child sexual exploitation and sexual extortion, as well as the livestreaming of child sexual abuse on the popular platform.
In the latest battle in a long-running war between tech czar Mr Musk and the eSafety commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, the Federal Court on Friday rejected claims X Corp did not have to respond to an eSafety transparency notice on the grounds that it was given to Twitter in February last year.
