Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has refused to say whether households will be better off overall from Labor’s cost-of-living packages amid the risk of rising interest rates and inflation wiping out the gains.

Giving his first full press conference on Saturday after his COVID-19-induced absence from the campaign trail, Mr Albanese continued to be peppered by questions over Labor’s policies to tackling the soaring cost of living.
