Labor and the Greens are playing chicken ahead of next month’s resumption of Parliament, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reaffirming the government’s climate change legislation will be a take-it-or leave it proposition.
After formally communicating to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change the intention to reduce emissions by 43 per cent over 2005 levels by 2030, Mr Albanese said that target, as well as net zero by 2050, would be legislated when Parliament first sits on July 26.
