Labor to make 43pc emissions cut in UN climate pledge
The federal Labor government has summoned business, industry and union leaders to Canberra to witness a ceremony in which it will formally pledge to the United Nations its commitment to cut emissions by 43 per cent over 2005 levels by 2030.
While the business leaders will use the opportunity to have talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Climate and Energy Minister Chris Bowen about the energy crisis gripping the eastern states, they will also be party to a signing ceremony scheduled to be held in Parliament House on Thursday.
