Morningstar has warned that rapid turnover among senior staff and broader governance issues at construction industry superannuation fund Cbus raises concerns about the fund’s culture and appeal compared to rivals.

These issues outweighed the benefits of Cbus lowering fees or improving other offerings, the research house said, especially as its performance was comparable to other funds in the long term and “sub-par” in the shorter term.
