PM needs gimmick-free climate plan

The Prime Minister should be prepared to go nuclear to fix the nation's emissions problems - gimmicks and under-costed 'nation-building' projects simply won't cut it.

Scott Morrison’s plan to cut Australia’s net greenhouse gas emissions won’t include a carbon price for purely political reasons.

But nor can it be another list of under-costed “nation-building” projects such as Snowy Hydro 2.0 and gimmicks like the fast train to Parkes flagged in the Treasurer’s pre-election budget speech.
