Australian skiers and snowboarders are likely to enjoy fewer quality snow days at the nation’s ski fields as rising temperatures reduce snowfall and threaten the future of the alpine resort industry.
The State of the Climate report, produced by the CSIRO and the Bureau of Meteorology, found Australia’s climate has warmed by 1.5C since 1910, and warned the number of snow days in alpine regions has been decreasing for more than half a century.
