Vanguard lures ASIC commissioner as top lawyer

ASIC Commissioner Sean Hughes is leaving the corporate watchdog to take up a role as Australian general counsel at asset manager Vanguard.
The move comes just weeks after the $10.5 trillion investment giant’s Australian arm was slapped with $39,960 in penalties by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for “misleading” ESG claims.
