Tax more or spend less after cyclone, RBNZ governor advises

Wellington | Reserve Bank Governor Adrian Orr warned on Wednesday (AEDT) New Zealand’s high rate of inflation could be driven down faster if the government either taxes more or cuts some spending – rather than relying on more borrowed money to finance a rebuild after a devastating cyclone.

The comments will give encouragement but also sound alarms on both sides of politics.
