Incoming Reserve Bank of Australia board member Renee Fry-McKibbin was a monetary policy dove in 2022, backing in low interest rates even as the central bank delivered supersized hikes, according to investment bank Barrenjoey.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers on Monday announced that Professor Fry-McKibbin and former Bendigo and Adelaide Bank boss Marnie Baker would serve on the RBA’s new interest rate-setting board from March 1, in a set of appointments that have been endorsed by economists.
