Treasury has issued an insightful consultation paper seeking the views of stakeholders on the regulation of accounting, auditing and consulting firms in Australia.

At the same time, the parliamentary joint committee on corporations and financial services’ inquiry into “ethics and professional accountability: structural challenges in the audit, assurance and consultancy industry” is scheduled soon to issue a report on its findings.
