Next year will mark 30 years since the 1994 FIFA Men’s World Cup final between Italy and Brazil. As a soccer-crazed teenager, I remember watching the game from home in Sydney.
Mum and Dad were Italian immigrants, so we proudly barracked for Italy. Our hearts raced when the game was forced to a penalty shootout. Then they broke when the No. 1 striker in the world, Roberto Baggio, missed the penalty that would ultimately cost Italy the game and the cup.
