The treasurer’s focus on productivity is good news for all of us. It’s the right place to start for any government looking to sustainably improve Australians’ quality of life.

The treasurer has said that productivity will be the focus of economic policy in his government’s second term. That’s music to my ears as the chair of the government’s Productivity Commission. To help, we are working on five new inquiries with recommendations that the government can adopt as part of its productivity push.
