At her home in the Berkshire village of Sonning, Theresa May claims to have nearly 100 cookbooks.
Surprisingly, she is not fan of Delia Smith, the best-selling culinary institution whose recipes May finds far too "precise". Her preference is the more spontaneous "handful of this, handful of that" approach favoured by Jamie Oliver or Yotam Ottolenghi.
