Foodora to close Australian operations on August 20

On-demand food delivery platform Foodora will exit Australia at the end of the month following a decision by its global parent company to focus on other markets.
The shock decision, announced on Thursday afternoon, came as the gig company faced a landmark sham contracting case that threatened to put it on the hook for millions of dollars in wages and entitlements.
