Census data 'imperiled' by growing boycott

Labor shadow assistant treasurer Andrew Leigh says the census data to be collected on Tuesday night has been threatened by a poor sales campaign, after at least six senators said they will not put their names on the form due to privacy concerns.

This year the Australian Bureau of Statistics has controversially switched to an opt-out online format – where you have to request a paper form – and moved to store your personal data for four years rather than 18 months.
