Gresham, a major corporate advisory firm part-owned by Wesfarmers, paid out almost $700,000 including a sizeable bonus to an executive it suspected possessed child exploitation material, as part of a secret exit deal.
The former executive received payments for several years after he left in 2013 in a settlement that required him not to make disparaging remarks about the business or speak about the pornographic videos.
This story has been updated to make it clearer that Wesfarmers launched an investigation shortly after it received a complaint in 2023.
