This week, the S&P/ASX 200 Index hit a record as investors got excited about the prospect of a rate cut from the US Federal Reserve.
But no one is expecting the Reserve Bank of Australia to follow suit any time soon. As the August board meeting comes into view, there is even speculation there will be another rate rise before this tightening cycle ends.
