Qantas is charging three times as much as rival Virgin Australia for a one-way business class fare from Sydney to Melbourne at 6pm – a prime slot for corporate travellers – in early September.
QF479 on September 11 has a pricetag of $1609 versus $479 on VA874. Such gaping price differences are part of the reason disgruntled flyers are turning away from Qantas.
