Ray Balks is manager of stakeholder relations at global energy and renewables company Idemitsu Australia. He lives in Brisbane.
When did you start obstacle racing, and what got you into it? My first race was the Winter Warrior at Keepit Dam in NSW, in August 2017. My wife, Glenise, who was taking part, thought it was a good idea for me to try it too. I was in serious doubt when we turned up and it was 5.7 degrees, especially during the two swims in the freezing cold dam.
