Sierra Reed refuses to play the game. The 40-year-old expat Californian has been producing exceptional wine under her own, eponymous label for a decade. She deserves to be considered in the top tier of Australia’s new-wave small producers.
But you’ve probably never heard of her because – unlike almost every other winemaker out there – she doesn’t send bottles to critics, or believe in scores, or enter wine shows. And as a result, few people have written about her.
