The watches that don’t lose value when you walk out of the store

First, a confession – I’m hardly a timepiece trader. I’ve sold Ferraris for a profit but never a watch. Yep, my factory-ordered Dino 246 Spyder (and later, a 308 GTS) made money for every minute it was in my possession, while my other weakness, timepieces, has merely been a pleasurable cost.

I keep hearing about watches as investments, but despite being a purchaser and keen observer for decades, I don’t think I’ve ever sold one for more than I paid for it. Maybe that speaks to my talent (or lack thereof) as a trader, and maybe I’ve kept the best for myself, but I’ve also never seen watches as a way to make money.
