Afew months ago, I began shopping for a diamond to put on an engagement ring.

I knew about the 4Cs – carat, clarity, colour and cut – which are the characteristics used to determine a diamond’s relative rarity and value, but when I spoke to jewellers they said there was more to consider when buying a diamond.
