It’s easy to believe the most fascinating car company at the moment is Volvo. Yep, Volvo. It’s not just that it is building good products and seeing sales increase as a result. It’s also that the Swedish company is the jewel in the crown of the ambitious and adventurous Chinese maker Geely.
Few thought that when Volvo was sold by Ford to Geely in 2010 it pointed to a bright future. A company that was finally on the ascendency after some dark years was being thrown into the hands of one that had been building cars for only a few years – and doing it badly.
