Sister Act is a rare musical that’s based on an earlier movie, rather than the other way around.

It’s an occasionally awkward fit, but the source material - the 1992 surprise hit starring Whoopi Goldberg as lounge singer turned nun-in-disguise Deloris - is strong enough to ensure some heavenly moments.
