New vehicles sales in July inched ahead in Australia by 0.4 per cent compared with the same month a year ago, but backlogs in supply are still crimping overall sales in a market where the Toyota HiLux ute is a clear No. 1 with buyers.
The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries said on Wednesday that new vehicle supply chains remained unpredictable and demand would outstrip supply for the forseeable future.
