Demons take top spot in dramatic final round

The final eight for the AFL has been settled, but only after a weekend of dramatic finishes that saw the Melbourne Demons claim the minor premiership for the first time since 1964.
An after-the-siren goal from Demons captain Max Gawn against the Geelong Cats on Saturday night meant they leapfrogged Port Adelaide and Geelong into top spot, with the Brisbane Lions finishing fourth.
