Challenger firms increase pay in fight for top-tier legal talent
Challenger law firms are paying graduates more than some top-tier outfits as they compete for in-demand young lawyers, whose stock remains high despite a softening in the legal labour market.
Thomson Geer and Mills Oakley are offering salaries exceeding $100,000 to university leavers, a mark only recently surpassed by top-tier firms, according to data from the latest Australian Financial Review Law Partnership Survey.
