Worker killed at Rio Tinto’s Simandou iron ore project

A worker has been killed at Rio Tinto’s Simandou iron ore project in Guinea, marking the fifth death at the mining giant’s global operations this year.
In a statement late on Monday, Rio Tinto said that an employee from a contracting company died in an incident at the SimFer port site in Morebaya, in the West African nation on Saturday.
