BHP names Mike Henry as new CEO

BHP's Australian mining boss Mike Henry has won the race to replace chief executive Andrew Mackenzie and has underlined a continued focus on safety, performance and value amid growing challenges on growth and climate change.

The mining giant said on Thursday that Mr Henry would start on January 1, after Mr Mackenzie retires at the year-end, bringing to an end a tenure of more than six years marked by the streamlining of the portfolio.
