Within five minutes of Jock Zonfrillo’s sudden death being announced on his Instagram account last Monday, an official comment from Network Ten and production company Endemol Shine landed in media inboxes. It was 2.12pm in Sydney.

By then, top sales, production and publicity executives at Ten had been on the phones for hours. Some who were on the calls said many were in tears.
