Advertisers turn to streaming to reach audiences

Australia’s TV industry says its broadcast-video on-demand market – advertising-funded streaming services – is the country’s fastest-growing media channel as it reported revenue growth of 53.3 per cent in fiscal 2022.

Broadcast-video on-demand (BVOD) platforms such as 7plus, 9Now, 10 Play, Foxtel Go, Foxtel Now and Kayo delivered revenue growth of 53.3 per cent to $426 million for the 12 months to June 30, according to data from industry body ThinkTV. The second half of the fiscal year delivered $208 million of the total.
