The race to create super intelligent computers has led to dire warnings about the future of humanity, but Commonwealth Bank boss Matt Comyn is more optimistic.

He said the blockbuster arrival of generative AI this year, which has made ChatGPT the fastest-growing app in internet history, was “transformational” and could become a driver of productivity in the economy.
