Breach documents detail roots of IAG’s refund blight

Insurer IAG concluded internally it had broken laws against misleading and deceptive conduct in a multimillion-dollar pricing debacle that failed to pass on promised discounts to customers, new documents show.

Sydney-based IAG also privately and clearly told regulators more than two years ago that a program to deliberately minimise premium reductions was part of the problem – in contrast with statements to investors that did not mention this as a cause.
