What is it? The BMW 118 is the brand’s entry-level hatch. For decades BMW called it the 118i, with i for fuel-injection (even when all its cars were fuel-injected). With this fourth generation, the i has finally been dropped; BMW instead now uses i as a prefix not suffix, denoting an electric car.
What does it cost? It is $56,500 plus on-road costs. The good news though is it is no longer the “stripper” model of yore, but fitted with copious comfort and convenience equipment. That said, there was still a $5000 option pack added to our car (including glass roof, upgraded sound etc).
