Ingham’s to raise prices to combat inflation

Ingham’s chief executive Andrew Reeves says predicting whether seasonal demand for barbecue chicken – already hurt by customers turning more to online and spending less time in shops – will be hit by another bad summer is the least of his problems.

His main focus in the coming months is to push through price rises to combat the rising costs of feed, fuel and labour after a period disrupted by lockdowns where the chicken industry was simply “scrambling to get market supply”.
