Reserve Bank of Australia governor Philip Lowe says surging energy prices and ongoing supply constraints caused by the COVID-19 crisis and Russia’s war in Ukraine will spur higher inflation.

Price pressures could push central banks to lift interest rates faster and further than previously thought, Dr Lowe told The Australian Financial Review Business Summit in Sydney on Wednesday, but he stressed the RBA would take time to assess new information and how uncertainties resolve.
